Mohsin Hani is the CEO of Mohsin Haider Darwish LLC, his family business. Mohsin Haider Darwish was his grandfather whose legendary example is what the businessman is following. With in-depth knowledge and far sight like his grandfather, Mohsin has proven himself with a positive attitude that he can excel well in the automotive industry by working with several stakeholders in order to bring synergies for operational efficiencies.
Being the youngest CEO of the automotive, construction equipment and renewable energy cluster at his company, Mohsin has been listed in the Top 100 Forbes family-owned businesses in 2021. He has a Bachelor degree in Science (Business and Management) with honors. He has Master’s in Social Science and Public Policy from King’s College London.
Before joining his family business, he has remained the Director (Automotive) at Muscat Governorate, Oman. Here, he has remained a leader in managing the sales and aftersales teams guiding and supporting them in identifying business opportunities. He is the Head of MENA Business Development in Ajna Lens and a board member in National College of Automotive Technology, Oman.
A goal-oriented person and a business expert, Mohsin uses his skills of possession in coaching and guiding senior managers in his company to improve effectiveness and policy enforcement to output improved job satisfaction for employees with high levels in their performances. He has been able to build productive relationships with industry partners and competitors and led business strategic initiatives such as bringing in the Renewable Energy division into MHD ACERE and tying up with ABB. The business conglomerate is the largest and most successful in the Gulf and the Sultanate of Oman. Prior to his position as a CEO, he served his company as a Director of Automotive dealing with the premium brands, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo in Oman.
After the massive hit of the pandemic, the company expanded its operations of MG Motor. He has been instrumental in the swift rise of MG Motors in the Sultanate to the third place as per the Middle East Automotive Council (MEAC). His ideal strategies led to the phenomenal growth of of the sales of MG Motors which resulted in winning him an award with a Certificate of Appreciation by SAIC Motor Middle East. Recently he has launched the opening of the latest MG Motor facility in Buraimi Governorate under the patronage of the MD of MG Motor Middle East. This new facility is going to have a fully-fledged 3S services benefitting the customers. Prior to it, he launched the 12th MG Motors showroom and 9th Tyre Plus facility in Jalan Bani Buali to aid in reaching new levels in the Sharqiah region.
With an eye on national development and creating the employment scenario for his country people, his company diversified in the construction equipment section launching niche brands like McLaren Automotive, Varta Batteries, XCMG and Weir Trio in Oman.
He was elected as the first chairman of Al Amerat Club during the foundation general assembly meeting held at Oman Women’s Association. He is a member of the Oman-Turkey Friendship Association, a key contributor in enhancing the relationship between the two countries.
Mohsin has been productive in obtaining the skills required for creation and implementing it into business policies to meet the corporate objectives. In short he has depicted the leadership quality in almost all of his ideas and strategies. A testimony to all the ideals of business, Mohsin has attracted numerous awards and titles to his name. He is a recipient of the TAS Icons of Oman where he was listed in the top 50 prominent personalities in Oman.
